X-Chat is an IRC Client for the X Window System that looks and behaves a lot like AmIRC (Amiga).
It requires GTK+ and optionally GNOME, Perl and Python. The program supports plug-ins, and a text-based interface is compiled if ncurses is found.This is an excellent IRC client, one of the best for Linux, or for that matter, any other system.
